Remaining in anticipation while expecting something to happen is referred to as waiting. We all experience this in our daily lives, whether it be waiting for a phone call, the arrival of a loved one, or the delivery of an online purchase.
It can be frustrating when we pray about a situation and don't receive any immediate response. It may feel like time is running out and there is no progress being made. This can be especially challenging for Christians who are encouraged to "wait on the Lord" and trust in God to meet their needs and fulfill their desires.
It's understandable to feel impatient and want to take matters into our own hands, but Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us that God goes before us and we should not be afraid.
Here are things to do during your time of waiting:
1. Remember that God is sovereign and in control. Trust in His timing and His plan for your life.
2. Use the time of waiting to grow closer to God through prayer, reading the Bible, and seeking His will for your life.
3. Reflect on the lessons you have learned during times of waiting in the past. How did you grow and change during those times? How did God provide for you and guide you through those times?
4. Consider the example of people in the Bible who had to wait for God's plan to unfold. For example, Abraham had to wait for many years before he was blessed with a child, and Joseph had to wait for many years before he was able to fulfill his dream of ruling Egypt.
5. Look for opportunities to serve and help others during this time of waiting. This can help you stay focused on God's purpose for your life and take your mind off your own circumstances.
Finally, remember that waiting is not always easy, but it can be a time of great blessing and growth if we trust in God and seek His will for our lives.
