Hello wonderful people!
What a year it has been?! I hope you all are doing okay? I can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to with you guys, it’s been an exciting and crazy journey.
Today’s topic is about LOVE. The love of Christ.
Many of us Christians and non-Christians alike tend to not really understand the meaning of love. Love is not just an emotional feeling you feel for your loved ones, it cuts across all barriers.
I will be talking about love from the Christian point of view today. A certain man met Jesus in the book of Mathew and asked;
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:36-39 ESV
As Christians, we follow the 1st commandment by striving to love and please God with all our heart, soul, and mind thereby forgetting the second commandment that talks about love for our neighbor. This is a hypocritical love.
How much do you love your neighbor?
How accommodating and tolerant are you?
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
John 15:12 ESV
Love.
To be a Christian is to be and live like Christ. Jesus Christ loved everyone irrespective of their class and faith.
Love your neighbor irrespective of their class, faith, tribe, belief, orientation, lifestyle choices, etc Jesus Christ sees past all these so why can’t you?
To be like Christ is to be patient, humble, kind, tolerant.
Do not be selfish with your prayers and learn to forgive quickly.
I hope that this short post will help us love and be empathetic to the people around us.
