Review: Absolute New York HD Flawless Foundation and Powder

When I received a mail from @originalcosmeticsng asking to make a review of their product, I was smitten and who was I to refuse? They were kind enough to send these products to my doorstep and I just couldn't wait to try them out. Let the review begin:

Absolute New York HD Flawless Foundation

AHDF10 SIENNA SHADE

What Company Says

Second skin perfecting coverage and vitamin E
  • Lightweight, water based formulae.
  • Smooth and natural finish.
  • Paraben/fragrance free.
My Experience
  1. Its got a medium packaging, reminds me of 'NYX stay matte but not flat foundation', I love the portability of the foundation.
  2. I applied it using my foundation brush and since it is water based, you have to shake well before use because it tends to separate upon standing.
  3. I love the lightness and smoothness of the foundation when it sits on the skin although when applied at first it looks pale then it slowly warms up to your face and blends with your complexion.
  4. It has a thin texture which makes application easy to control  but application of this foundation should be little since it gets straight to even your skin.
  5. It might not be oil controlling enough for very oily skin.
  6. It wears better with powder over the top and for my skin type (combination skin) I always did get a T-zone shine which always made me wants to powder.
For 3000 Naira I would recommend it for people who are on a budget and are looking for an inexpensive foundation with medium coverage and natural finish, it is worth the price.

Absolute New York HD Flawless Powder

HDPF11 COGNAC SHADE

What Company Says

This light weight powder foundation delivers comfortable, buildable coverage that boasts a matte finish that retains skin's natural radiance. The unique perfecting formula is infused with blends of emollients and finely milled pigments that adhere to skin-instantly diffusing imperfection without emphasizing pores or fine lines.

*Emollients are agents that are used to make the external layers of skin softer and pliable.

My Experience
  1. The packaging is nice, it wasn't packaged cheaply.
  2. I applied with a powder brush since I wanted it to blend in with other products but I use it's applicator when powdering my T_zone.
  3. I love the silkness and smoothness on touch but I wouldn't apply it alone because you get to keep reapplying every hour if you have an oily or a combination skin.
  4. It gives a matte look but not for long.
Overall I think the powder is okay but overpriced. For 3500 Naira

Review: Virony Sanitary Pad

I used Virony for the first time yesterday and I ain't looking back. Few weeks ago, my friends told me about Virony pad which I was scared to get at first because of my fear of switching sanitary pads but the reviews and praises I got about it made me change my mind. Well, here I am too, dropping my praises about Virony.  Product Name: Virony Smart Lady Pad Company Promises Absorbs 60% faster Extended wings to prevent leak My Experiences  I love the feminine look and packaging, the fact that the pack can be reused as a makeup or storage bag makes me love it even more. Comes with 30 pieces in a pack (18 days, 7 nights and 5 pant liners) you will notice the difference in sizes.  It has a light and dry feel, no bulge or feels heavy when being worn and there is this minty feeling you experience down there ☻ It is perfect for heavy and light flows and does not leak or tear. My friends who experiences rashes with previous sanitary products swore that they did

How To Make Carrot Oil

Carrot oil can be used for the skin or hair and getting a good one can be nerve-racking sometimes, it’s either expensive or you fear getting a fake one. I learned how to make my own carrot oil and the transformation was so beautiful; the use of carrot oil brightened my skin and made it really soft, the key is to apply it when your skin is still wet before applying your lotion 🌚 I have never gone back to buying from a store ever since. Keep reading as I walk you through how to make your own carrot oil. Supplies • Hand Grater  • Pot • Mesh Strainer or Cheese Cloth • Jar Carrot Oil Ingredient • Carrots • Essential or Carrier Oils of your choice (In my case I use Vitamin E Oil and Johnson’s Baby Oil)  Preparation   1. Wash carrots and peel the skin off. Grate carrots with the use of a hand grater. 2. Place the grated carrot in a pot and pour the oil of your choice to cover the carrot. 3. Heat very slowly until color changes from yellow to orange 4. Al

Review: L.A Girl Mattifying Liquid Foundation & Maybelline New York Fit Me Foundation

I HAVE BEEN AWAY for soooo long and it was unintentional..... life happened but it's great to be writing again. So I'm going to do something different by reviewing 2 different foundations at a time; L.A. Girl mattifying foundation and maybelline new york fit me foundation. It has been a challenge for me to find a good foundation because of my super oily skin and most times I end up with either fake products or foundations that are not suitable for my skin type. I initially used a water based foundation which is actually not compatible with nigerian sun and in my desperate need to get another one and without research I bought the L.A Girl tube packaged foundation which the seller swore was matte and would be good on me 😩 Guys, after a month of usage, I did my research and finally got the maybelline fit me and I will be reviewing it too on this post. So leggo! L.A. Girl Mattifing Foundation  607 Company Promises 100% Natural Wear Waterproof Oil Control
